Fandom Spoilers Blocker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

Fandom Spoilers Blocker does not collect, sell, or share personal data. The extension stores spoiler-blocking settings locally. If you intentionally request support for an unsupported Fandom wiki, it sends only the wiki host, page URL, and an anonymous extension install ID so duplicate requests from the same browser are not counted twice.

Information the extension stores

The extension stores the user's selected reading progress, per-series chapter values, spoiler display mode, related extension preferences, an anonymous install ID, and whether support was already requested for a wiki using Chrome extension storage. This lets spoiler settings persist between browsing sessions and prevents showing duplicate request prompts after the user has already requested support.

Information the extension does not collect

  • No names, email addresses, account details, or contact information.
  • No browsing history outside Fandom wiki pages where the extension runs.
  • No page content, search queries, or spoiler-blocking results are sent to a server.
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers in the extension.

How permissions are used

The storagepermission is used only to save reading progress, spoiler settings, the anonymous install ID, and already-requested wiki state. The Fandom host permission is used to scan rendered supported wiki article content locally in the browser, detect chapter references, and blur or hide content that may contain future spoilers based on the user's selected progress. On unsupported Fandom wikis, it is used only to show the unsupported-wiki request card.

Data sharing

The extension does not sell, share, transfer, or disclose user data. It does not transmit stored settings to the developer or to external services.

Remote code

The extension does not execute remotely hosted code. Its spoiler-blocking logic is bundled with the extension package.

Website analytics

The project website uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand aggregate website usage such as page views, referrers, browser type, device type, and approximate region. Analytics are limited to the public website domain, respect browser Do Not Track settings where supported, and exclude URL search parameters and hashes. Website analytics are not used by the browser extension and do not collect extension browsing activity, Fandom page content, spoiler-blocking results, or reading progress.

Independence and trademarks

Fandom Spoilers Blocker is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with Fandom, Inc., Fandom.com, supported wiki communities, publishers, authors, rights holders, or franchises referenced by supported pages. Fandom and other names, logos, characters, series titles, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility and functionality.

Support requests

When a user intentionally clicks Request support on an unsupported Fandom wiki, the extension sends the wiki host, current page URL, and anonymous extension install ID to the project backend. The install ID is used only to avoid counting duplicate requests from the same browser for the same wiki. Support requests are not used for advertising, resale, or cross-site tracking.
